BEVERLY – Beverly Ann (Lawton) Powers, 82, died Friday, May 24, 2019 in the Oceanside Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Hampton, NH following a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Donald E. Powers who died in 2014.
Born in Gloucester on March 21, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Mildred (Clattenburg) Lawton. She was a graduate of Gloucester High School, class of 1955. She had resided in Gloucester for many years before moving to Beverly in 1961 and Danvers in 1986.
Beverly was employed as an automount operator at Sylvania in Danvers for twenty-six years before retiring in 1997. She has devoted her life to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda M. Goyette and her husband, Thomas of Milton, NH and Susan A. Gillis and her husband, John of Seabrook, NH; her son, Donald E. Powers, Jr. of Niota, TN; five grandchildren, Jody Rehrauer and her husband, Earl of Newton, NH, Kimberly Fuller and her husband, Daniel of Berwick, ME, Kelly Crawford and her husband, Derek of Dover, NH, Lauren Martin and her husband, Anthony of Amesbury and Kirsten Lander and her husband, Nick of Plaistow, NH; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral services will be privately held in Beechbrook Cemetery, Gloucester. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the Resident Fund at Oceanside Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, 22 Tuck Rd., Hampton, NH 03842.
