Elaine S. Pecker, 96, of North Andover, formerly of Haverhill, passed away peacefully, Friday, January 1, 2021 at The Prescott House in North Andover. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered by her loving family.
Elaine was born in Haverhill, March 14, 1924 the daughter of the late, Edwin and Elizabeth Pecker. She was a lifelong resident of Haverhill and a graduate of St. James High School. After high school, Elaine earned a degree in accounting. She dedicated 40 years of faithful employment as a Tax Accountant with the Internal Revenue Service. Elaine was dedicated to serving others. She generously volunteered her time teaching English reading and writing skills at The Haverhill Public Library. In her youth, Elaine enjoyed both cross-country and downhill skiing. She loved to travel and enjoyed trips to Spain, Ireland and England. When she wasn't traveling, she loved to visit the beach and spend time with her family and friends. Elaine was the loving and caring matriarch of her family. Her passing will forever leave an impression in the hearts of those to whom she was like a mother. Her life and accomplishments were a beautiful testimony to her intelligence, strength and capacity to love.
Elaine is survived by two nieces, Cindy Basso and husband, Robert of Belmont, MA and Coleen Laprise and husband, Ronald of Raymond, ME. She also leaves behind four grandnieces, Meagan Behrends, Emma Laprise, Anna Laprise and Nora Laprise and two grandnephews, Henry Stonehouse and Teddy Stonehouse. In addition to her parents, Elaine was predeceased by her brother, Edwin Pecker and her niece Dawn Randall.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours, Thursday, January 7, 2021 from 4-6 PM at The Grondin-Carnevale Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Ave. Haverhill, MA 01830. Masks and social distancing will be required for attendance. A funeral mass will be celebrated Friday at 10:00 AM from All Saints Parish, 120 Bellevue Ave, Haverhill, MA 01832. Interment will be at Saint James Cemetery in Haverhill.
