George Pasquale Tranfaglia,Jr, 84 , of West Newbury, MA, passed away peacefully, Saturday, March 7, 2020 at High Pointe House in Haverhill. He was the devoted husband of the late Joan Tranfaglia.
George was born November 5, 1935 in Boston, MA, the son of the late George P. Tranfaglie, Sr. and Jennie (Bibo) Tranfaglia. He was raised in East Boston and attended local schools. George graduated from East Boston High School and later Boston University. He dedicated much of his life to teaching at Woburn High School where he was employed as an Industrial Arts Teacher for over 30 years. George enjoyed cooking and gardening on his farm with his late wife, Joan. They both loved visiting and selling produce at The Farmer’s Market in Melrose, MA. George was a skilled woodworker and talented “Do It Yourself” handyman around his home. He loved boating and fishing in his early years and later became a volunteer at Parker River National Wildlife Refuge in Newbury, MA.
George is survived by his son, Dr. Michael R. Tranfaglia and wife Katherine of West Newbury and his daughter, Christina Tranfaglia of Glenview, IL. He will also be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Andrew Tranfaglia of West Newbury and Laura Solarz of Saugus, MA.
