Helen I. (Rivers) Quinney, 87, died Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at The Morrison Nursing Home in Whitefield. She was the wife of the late Wendell C. Quinney who died in 2001.
Born in Haverhill, MA on February 22, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Harland E. and Ethel G. (Smith) Rivers. She had resided in Sandown, NH for many years before moving to Inverness, FL in 1982. She had resided in Whitefield since 2008. She was a graduate of Haverhill High School class of 1951.
Helen was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Haverhill Manor Nursing Home, Inverness Healthcare and the Lafayette Center in Franconia, NH before her retirement in 2008. She previously worked for Lucent Technologies in North Andover. She also volunteered at the Littleton Regional Hospital for fifteen years and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary #816 in Littleton, NH.
Helen was an avid reader, enjoyed puzzles, bird watching and especially spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Valerie E. and Carl E. Hill; daughter-in-law, Susan Mooers; three step-children, David Quinney and his wife, Lai, Glenn Quinney and his wife, Carol and Karleen Howard; one brother and sister-in-law, William and Carol Rivers and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her son, Robert H. Mooers, brother, Robert Rivers and two sisters, Gladys Rivers and Alyce Innis.
Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 1st in the Grondin-Carnevale Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Ave., Haverhill, MA at 1 P.M. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
