Karen Bartnicki Obituary

Karen J. Bartnicki, 63, formerly of Beverly, died Friday, August 6, 2021 at the Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester following a lengthy illness.

Born in Beverly, MA on May 2, 1958, she was the beloved daughter of the late Edward W. Bartnicki, Sr. and Ruth B. (Rhoades) Bartnicki. She was a graduate of Beverly High School class of 1976 and Regis College class of 1980, where she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology/Social Work.

Upon graduating college, Karen was employed as an event/conference coordinator in the high-tech industry. She relocated to the Bay area of California and resided there from 1986-’93, continuing her career on the west coast. Returning to Massachusetts in 1993, settling in Amesbury, an area she grew to dearly love, Karen switched careers to social work and assisted-living/long-term care administration. She excelled at helping families find any and all available resources to lessen the financial burden of caring for their loved ones.

In 2019, she moved to a peaceful “55 and over” community in Rochester NH. where she enjoyed, to the best of her ability, a more quiet, slower life that allowed her to tend to her home, property and plant and flower gardens, which she took great pride and pleasure in. She could now focus on making the most of her time without the hustle and bustle of a full-time work-life. She earned it.

Memories of Karen will be of a loving daughter, sister, niece, aunt and friend. She looked forward to all family gatherings and catching up on the life activities of those relatives she did not frequently see. She was also an adventurous soul. She loved to travel and loved days relaxing on the beach by the ocean. An avid amateur photographer, she focused mostly on nature’s beauty and architecture.

Karen is survived by her sister, Wendy L. Ventura of Londonderry, NH; her brother, Edward W. “Nick” Bartnicki, Jr. of Salem; nieces and nephews, Tyler Litchfield, Brian Ventura and Chris, Casey, Shon and Chad Burch and many cousins. She was also predeceased by her sister, Pamela A. Burch.

A celebration of her life will be privately held at the convenience of the family. Donations may be made in her memory to the American Cancer society. To send online condolences, please visit www.grondincarnevale.com.
